Bringing about a transformation in the social arena by helping out underprivileged children and students with education, who show the spark of excellence in academics, giving financial aid for patients who need medical help but lack the means, especially cancer effected people and extending assistance to the mentally challenged, in the suburb and rural areas of Tamilnadu.

FRIENDS EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST is a non-profit organisation, traces its origin to casual discussion of three friends on a summer evening. The three friends called themselves “Friends to care” and put in their meagre earnings to help the poor children who had the brains but not the means to continue their education. ‘Basic education is a right not a choice’ which spurred these three friends to access their network to identify such school drop-out cases and give them the fundamental schooling. Subsequently they formerly got the Charitable Trust in Chennai registered and started helping out the financially starved college students who would have otherwise left their studies incomplete. They consciously have kept their field of work in the interiors of TN where the need was stringent. The Educational Trust in Chennai realised that they cannot restrict themselves to the needy students when there was such a strong need of financial help required by the medically ill, especially the cancer patients , the mentally challenged kids and the deserted old people. Their hearts continued to grow larger and kinder and continues to grow even today.

FECT is an NGO, Charitable Educational trust in Chennai, Tamilnadu. Group of volunteers, with a common mind set bond together to reach out to help the needy in the society. They refer the people who need financial assistance to FECT and we make it happen. Without the contribution of these good Samaritans, FECT would not be able to make this stupendous task, a success.

Our Story

Friends to care which was started by a group of friends on Jan 2006, now has many more caring hearts. It is tragically true that, financial crisis of the families stops the kids in our society from getting education.
